Meenakshi was stabbed 8 times: Post-mortem report

The post-mortem report of Meenakshi who was brutally stabbed to death in Anand Parbat area of Central Delhi has revealed that she died due to profuse bleeding caused by eight stab injuries and not 32-35 stabbing as reported by a section of media and Delhi government advertisement.

The post-mortem was conducted at Maulana Azad Medical College hospital which revealed that 19-year-old Meenakshi died of bleeding resulting from eight stab injuries, a senior police officer said today adding that police received the report on Friday. 

Following the findings of the post-mortem report, Delhi Police will now demand the Delhi Government to remove that portion of its advertisement that claimed she was stabbed 32 times, by the accused, the officer said.

The report mentioned that Meenakshi was stabbed thrice below the waist. These three stabbings were deep and fatal for her as it resulted in profuse bleeding. 

She had also been stabbed by the accused on her face, neck, both arms and thigh when she was accosted by the accused while returning to her home in Punjabi Basti in Anand Parbat area on July 16.
