Medical student commits suicide

Shravani, who hails from Suryapet town in Telangana, was a postgraduate student of <g data-gr-id="32">Anasthesia</g> Department at Osmania Medical College and <g data-gr-id="30">she</g> self-inflicted excess saline in her <g data-gr-id="31">left hand</g> last night resulting in her death, they said.

"It is a case of suicide by self-injection by administering <g data-gr-id="24">excess</g> dose of saline," Afzalgunj Police Station Inspector C Anjaiah told PTI.

Based on preliminary investigation, she resorted to the extreme step apparently due to some family problems and health issues, the Inspector said, adding no suicide note was found.

Some reports said her marriage was fixed recently and she was not <g data-gr-id="25">interested for</g> that. One of her <g data-gr-id="28">friend</g> noticed her lying on the bed and after getting <g data-gr-id="27">suspicious</g> informed police.

A case under section 174 CrPC was booked in connection with the incident. Further probe is on.
