Media associations condemn attack during civic polls

The attack on media persons during Saturday’s Bidhanangar Municipal elections in West Bengal was condemned by several journalist associations in the district on Monday. The Jalpaiguri Press Club condemned the violence unleashed on journalists and photo-journalists during the Saturday’s troubled municipal elections in Bidhannagar and submitted a memorandum to the Assistant Divisional Commissioner P Sinha. Sinha assured to forward the memorandum to the Divisional Commissioner Arun <g data-gr-id="11">kumar</g> Roy who is accompanying Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to Bhutan. Roy would forward the same to the CM after perusal, Sinha said.The Dhupguri Central <g data-gr-id="12">Dooars</g> Press Club also organised a rally throughout the city against the attack. A memorandum condemning the attack was on Monday handed over to the Block Development Officer (BDO) which will be handed over to the Governor and CM. <g data-gr-id="9">Mpost</g>
