MCD officer’s daughter kills self

The 26-year-old daughter of a senior officer posted in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Thursday committed suicide by hanging herself in her bedroom in Noida’s posh locality of Sector-14. Police said she could not cope with the pressure of National Eligibility Test (NET) examination.

Ankita Dash (26) lived along with her parents. Police said her father Ajay Vishwash is posted as a town planer architect in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Police said the incident took place around 11 am when an argument took place with her mother over poor examination preparation.

Station House Officer of Sector-20 police station, Amarnath Yadav said: “Ankita went under frustration after the argument with her mother and started throwing books and other valuables outside from her bedroom. She then closed herself inside her room. Her mother was crying and insisting her to open the door but she lost her control and hung herself from the ventilator.”

“Ankita’s mother informed the incident to her husband in Delhi who immediately reached home and broke open the door with the help of a neighbour. She was found hanging with her dupatta from the ventilator. Ankita was rushed to a private hospital where doctors declared her brought death,” added the SHO.
