Mastermind of Defence Colony heist held

After spending days on the investigation of the biggest robbery of the capital in recent times, Delhi police finally managed to nab the main culprit.

Millennium Post has learnt from its sources that Hari Kishan, who was leading the robbers’ gang that stole more than  Rs 5 crore in Defence Colony, has been arrested along with his wife Rashmi.

The duo had been absconding since Saturday, a day after the robbery.

Delhi police got to know that the couple might have left the company. On the basis of a tip-off, they nabbed them from Banda area of Uttar Pradesh. They will reach Delhi by Wednesday night and after that, Delhi police will start their interrogation. A senior official confirmed the arrest of the duo.

 According to a source, soon after the robbery and division of the cash, Hari Kishan bought a luxury car on down payment from a showroom in NCR region.

‘They were in the same car when nabbed. Their passports have also been recovered from their possesion. They were carrying more than Rs 1 crore in cash along with them,’ the source added.

On Tuesday, when cops got to know about their plan of leaving the country, all the inter-state police departments were alerted. Thus, the Uttar Pradesh police, which was in constant touch with Delhi police, and put an end to their plans to escape.

Deepak, who is the brother of Hari Kishan, and one of the robbers, is already in police custody. He was the first accused to be nabbed by Delhi police on Saturday.

On the day of the robbery, Deepak was driving Hyundai Verna, the stolen car that was used to block the cash van in D-Block of Defence Colony.

Raids are being conducted in Delhi and NCR on the hideouts of the  accused. Also, a few of their relatives have been questioned to get more information.
