Marc Anthony, Shannon De Lima confirm split

Singer Marc Anthony and wife Shannon de Lima have decided to get a divorce after two years of marriage.

Anthony and de Lima confirmed the news Sunday, saying their decision to separate was mutual, reported E! online.

“After much consideration, we have mutually and amicably decided to end our two year marriage. We ask for privacy during this difficult process, and no further comments will be made from either one of us about this personal matter,” the two said in a statement.

They have no children together. De Lima has a 9-year-old son from a previous relationship.

Anthony has been married twice before. He and first wife and Puerto Rican actor Dayanara Torres were married for four years before they divorced in 2004. They share two sons.

He also shares a twin son and daughter with Jennifer Lopez, who he married soon after his divorce from Torres was finalized. 

The two split in 2011 and finalized their divorce in 2014, five months before he married de Lima.

Anthony and Lopez have remained friendly since their split and even shared a kiss on-stage at the 2016 Latin Grammy Awards. They also continued to work together; he is producing a new Spanish-language album for her which is set to be released in 2017.
