Manas Bhuniya seeks Mamata’s intervention

Alleging that the police have become a silent spectator to atrocities against Congress workers, senior state Congress leader Manas Bhuniya on Monday sought intervention of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to ensure protection to his partymen.

“May I expect that you will ensure the expected action from the administrative authority including SP of Paschim Medinipur for peaceful democratic functioning for all political parties in our district and in our Sabang block?” Bhuniya said in a letter to the Chief Minister.

Bhuniya also alleged that this situation has been continuing for the last two years since the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
