Man stabs wife 50 times in Rohini, arrested

The Delhi police have arrested a man in his early thirties for allegedly stabbing his wife 50 times in Outer Delhi’s Rohini area on Sunday. 

According to the police, the incident took place when the couple had a heated argument over an issue on Sunday morning. The accused, Kamal Kishore, works as a labourer in the area. The police said the accused had initially beat up his wife, Phoolwati. When she fought back, he allegedly brought a knife from the kitchen and stabbed her all over.

The police said the victim’s body bore 50 stab wounds. When Phoolwati raised an alarm, some neighbours gathered outside her house but Kishore managed to flee. However, residents managed to catch him after a brief chase. 

They also called the police, who rushed Phoolwati to a nearby hospital. She was later referred to the Safdarjung Hospital, where she is battling for life. The police said Phoolwati had received deep wounds on her face, hands and stomach.

The police are yet to record her statement but a case under the sections of murder has been registered at the Rohini police station. The accused has confessed to the crime.
