Man stabbed to death by brothers over property dispute

A 24-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his younger brother and two cousins over a property dispute in Outer Delhi’s Rohini Sector 20. The accused have been identified as Pawan (20), Rahul (22) and Ekraaj (28).

The incident took place on Monday night when the deceased, Vikas Solanki, engaged into a heated argument with his younger brother, Pawan. Pawan was later joined by his cousins Rahul and Ekraaj.

The argument blew out of proportion and Vikas was stabbed by Pawan and his cousins right in front of his wife, Poonam and his two-day-old daughter. Before she could raise an alarm, the three accused managed to escape from the spot. Vikas who used to own an Internet cafe in Aman Vihar used to misbehave with his father over a 100 square yard plot, which the family had inherited. During sustained police interrogation, Pawan told about the family dispute and how he was angry over Vikas’s aggressive attitude towards him and their father. After the fight broke out, he called up two of his cousins, who stay at Aman Vihar, and the trio stabbed Vikas with a knife in a fit of rage.
Meanwhile, Vikas’s father, who owns a few e-rickshaws operating in the area, claimed that he had no knowledge about the fight.

“A case has been registered at the Aman Vihar police station under Section 302 (murder) and the three accused have been arrested,” said Vikramjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer).
