Man nabbed with 61 cartons of Oxytocin injection

A joint team of police and Delhi government’s drug control department on Thursday arrested a man along with a huge quantity of Oxytocin injections from New Delhi railway station here.

According to <g data-gr-id="17">senior</g> official, <g data-gr-id="18">raid</g> was conducted after a <g data-gr-id="15">tip off</g> that a man was illegally transporting a consignment of Oxytocin injections via Patna-Delhi train.

“Our team conducted a raid along with Delhi police and seized 61 cartons of Oxytocin injection. A man was arrested and he could not produce license and documents of the medicine. <g data-gr-id="19">Cost</g> of injections is approximately Rs 12 lakh,” a senior officer said.

Oxytocin injection, which causes harmful effects on humans as well as livestock, is allegedly used to extract milk from milch animals. The accused has been identified as Devinder Kumar, <g data-gr-id="23">resident</g> of Ghaziabad. 

“During the interrogation he told that he used to procure the injection from Patna and used to sell it to dealers here. “We are yet to identify buyers and soon they will be arrested,” a senior police officer said.
