Man kills wife’s paramour, takes a snap to show her; arrested

A 26-year-old ward boy in a hospital has been arrested by the Delhi Police for brutally killing a supervisor in a manufacturing unit of shoes after learning about his wife’s illicit relationship with the victim. He had also gone to the extent of clicking a photograph of the body to show it to his wife, police said.

The murder came to light on November 12 in West Delhi’s Nihal Vihar area after a body was found with multiple stab wounds on the chest, jaw and cheek with the throat being slit with a sharp weapon. The accused identified as Pappu (28) was arrested, police said on Wednesday.

During investigation, the body was identified as Naresh Dass and it was found that one lady who was working as a labourer under the supervision of the deceased in the same factory was visited by him in absence of her husband — Pappu who had expressed his resentment to Naresh and his wife regarding this relation. He had warned him not to meet his wife but to no avail.

“To know the reality of their relationship, he inserted a memory chip in the mobile phone of his wife without her knowledge. Pappu used to hear the conversation between his wife and Naresh by taking out the memory chip during late hours. On November 8, he had heard a very objectionable conversation and he became furious. He did not disclose this fact to his wife and decided to eliminate Naresh,” police said quoting Pappu’s confessional statement.

“On November 11, when Pappu saw him at his residence he asked Naresh to join him for a drink outside the house. After consuming alcohol, Pappu attacked him and when he fell unconscious in a pool of blood, he took his picture to show it to his wife, but didn’t show the picture,” police said.
