Man kidnaps child to force mother to marry him

A two-year-old boy was rescued by Delhi police and abductor, who was heading towards Sonepat was arrested by from Azadpur Railway Station on Saturday morning. The accused was identified as Kishore Kumar Prajapati (39). He told the police that he had kidnapped the child so that he could blackmail his mother to marry him, said police.

Prajapati belongs to a village in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. He also claims to be an astrologer and sells Rudraksha necklaces as a side business.

The boy was kidnapped from his Seelampur residence on January 14, after which his mother had filed a complaint. She had worked for around a month in a factory at Noida which was owned by the accused. Since then, he kept visiting her residence and was close to her family.

Teenager dies in fatal road accident

A 15-year-old girl died after the autorickshaw she was travelling in was hit by a speeding truck at east Delhi’s Jyoti Nagar area on Saturday morning. She was travelling with her mother and aunt, who – along with the autorickshaw driver – sustained severe injuries. The driver of the truck was held by the locals and handed over to the police. The truck too was impounded, said a police official.

Man kills wife, self

A 45-year-old businessman hanged himself to death after allegedly killing his wife at his residence in west Delhi’s Tagore Garden area on Saturday afternoon. According to the police, Govind Ram Gundwani (45) – lived with his wife, Nisha (42), and three children. He and his wife owned a press in Rajouri Garden area. On Saturday afternoon, he allegedly slit his wife’s throat and then hanged himself to death from a ceiling fan in the bedroom of his residence. However, no suicide note was found by the police, said police official.
