Man held for killing lover’s daughter

Delhi police have arrested a man for allegedly killing a girl three days ago as she was against his ‘illicit’ relations with her mother.

Kameshwar Singh, 58, who hails from Darbhanga district in Bihar, was arrested on 29 September from Anand Vihar while he was trying to leave for Nepal to avoid arrest, police said. An FIR was registered by the mother of the victim at Shahbad Dairy police station here.

The accused had allegedly assaulted on the victim's neck and head with a 'Gandasa' [chopper] on the evening of 27 September at Shahbad Daulatpur village here. Singh, who managed to avoid arrest for three days, later confessed to have killed the girl as she was ‘opposing’ his illegal relation with her mother, police said, adding that the weapon has also been seized.

The accused, working as a contractor in aluminium melting factory, has a wife and four children who live at Kathmandu in Nepal, they said.
