Man found dead, with face smashed, in Nehru Place

An unidentified body of a man has been found lying near Paras Cinema in south-east Delhi’s Nehru Place. No arrests have been made yet in the case.
According to the police, the incident was reported early on Wednesday morning. When a team of cops reached the spot, a semi-nude body of a man, with his face brutally smashed, probably to conceal his identity, was found. Primary investigations indicate it to be a case of murder. The deceased seemed to be approximately 22 to 25-years-old.

A police official said, 'We don't have any clue about the deceased. We have contacted most of the police stations to check on missing reports in an effort to identify the victim. We have sent the torn clothes to the forensic department and the reports are awaited.'

Cops received a call at 6 am on Wednesday from a passer-by informing about the body.
The victim was rushed to the nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.  The body has been preserved at the hospital mortuary for post-mortem. Meanwhile, cops have initiated a manhunt to ascertain the identity of the deceased and have registered a case under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code at Kalkaji Police Station.
