Man fires at nephew after tiff over property

The incident took place on Tuesday evening when the accused, identified as Bhagat Singh called his nephew, Lalit, to a park in Sarvodaya Enclave colony, near their residences. After having a heated argument over some property dispute Singh pulled out his pistol and opened fire at Lalit. Before Singh could escape from the spot, the locals held him.

Some of the locals rushed Lalit to a private nursing home from where he was referred to AIIMS Trauma Centre. His condition is stated to be critical even after undergoing a major operation to take out bullets from his body.

The hospital authorities along with a few locals have informed the police who reached the spot and the hospital. Lalit is kept under observation that is why his statement could not be recorded by the police. Around five empty bullet shells have been recovered from the spot and investigation is underway. Meanwhile, based on the statements of the eye-witnesses, a case of attempt to murder has been lodged at Malviya Nagar police station against Singh.
