Man enters Parl premises without pass

In a major security breach, a man on Friday entered the premises of Parliament without a valid pass, following which he was detained and interrogated by security agencies for hours.

The incident took place around 7.40 am when Pradeep Kumar, a native of Unnao district in UP, walked into the Parliament premises through the visitor’s gate on Talkatora Road without the required pass. He went past the first security layer and was stopped at the second.

“No visitor is allowed access to the premises without a valid pass. The man was stopped at the second security layer. He was detained for security reasons and his records were thoroughly checked,” Joint Secretary for Parliament Security Ajay Anand said. Kumar was stopped at the second check point where security officials, surprised on seeing him there without a valid pass, surrounded him.
