Man creates estranged wife’s profile on porn site

A 31-year-old married woman has lodged a complaint, alleging that her husband put up her profile on a porn website. The profile contains her mobile number as well. The accused is absconding as of now.

The incident was reported at Cyber Cell of the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi police, after she approached Sangam Vihar police station. She told police that her husband used to harass her mentally and physically, and used to demand dowry.

For the last few months, the victim was residing with her parents in Sangam Vihar area of south Delhi. She got married in March 2011 and  was living in Agra before that.

Ever since she separated from her husband, she was getting calls from unknown numbers. People calling her would put forth vulgar demands. When she asked them where did they get her number from, she was informed that her profile is available on a porn website.

After the complaint, a case under sections 66A and 67 of IT Act was registered. The victim told police that she was beaten up by her husband and that is why she decided to go separate ways. ‘At various adult websites, my photographs along with phone number and obscene messages have been uploaded. After visting those websites, many people would call me,’ she said.

Police is trying to trace her husband, the prime accused. He is a resident of Agra in Uttar Pradesh. So far, he is absconding.


ACCUSED IN RAPE-MURDER CASE ARRESTED


Police on Tuesday arrested the prime accused in the alleged rape and murder of a six-year-old girl in Subash Nagar area of the district last week. Describing the modus-operandi of the crime, SSP Prashant Kumar said on 9 January, accused Ravi, who is a friend of victim’s father, had taken the girl to the market on the pretext of getting her some eatables.

However Ravi, a drug addict, took the girl to a secluded place, where he raped and fatally struck her with a brick, Kumar said. He told police that he was in an inebriated condition when he committed the crime, Kumar said. Post-mortem report of the girl, whose body was found on 10 January on the Nandgram-Sihani Road, had confirmed she was raped before being murdered. The incident had sparked violent protests in the area, resulting in injuries to several people, including policemen.

BJP leader and local MP Rajnath Singh had also visited the victim’s family after the incident. Kumar said the accused also had taken part in the protest to evade suspicion.
