Man arrested for killing labourer

 Delhi Police arrested the accused person behind the murder of a labourer working in a garment factory in East Delhi’s Krishna Nagar. The accused person has been identified as Ram Asare (53).

The incident happened on the night of September 22, at West Vinod Nagar. Living in the same room, the victim, Sarabjeet Singh (50) and the accused engaged in a heated argument which turned into a scuffle and <g data-gr-id="20">Asare</g> attacked Singh with an iron rod and fled from the spot.

According to the police, they got a call from the staff of the garment factory on Wednesday morning around 8.30 am who found the victim’s body at the terrace.

“Initially it was difficult to locate the accused since he did not carry a mobile phone. A team was sent to their village where all the locals were thoroughly interrogated,” said B S Gurjar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, (East). 

According to the police, they were able to zero down on the location of <g data-gr-id="21">Asare</g> following which he was arrested. During sustained interrogation, <g data-gr-id="22">Asare</g> revealed he struck Singh with an iron rod. Police recovered the iron rod and the <g data-gr-id="23">blood stained</g> clothes of the accused. A case has been registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code against the accused.
