Mamata to visit Delhi on Dec 17, stage protest in front of House

There are reports that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be visiting Delhi on December 17 to meet President Pranab Mukherjee who underwent coronary angioplasty recently.

However, Trinamool Congress (TMC) sources confirmed that she will also stage a protest outside Parliament accusing the Centre of misusing the CBI for their political interest. Banerjee’s visit to Delhi comes at a time when TMC has decided to intensify campaign against alleged “political vendetta” by BJP following the arrest of state Transport Minister Madan Mitra.

Mamata claimed that Shah, during his recent visit to Kolkata for a public rally, met CBI officers and the “conspiracy” for Mitra’s arrest was hatched. “Such revengeful politics will never deter us from raising our voice for rights,” she had said.

“The campaign against BJP’s political vendetta will be intensified,” Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee, who is also Mamata Banerjee’s nephew, said.

Party Spokesperson and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Derek O’Brien confirmed her visit and tweeted: “Mamata Banerjee to make a 1-day trip to Delhi to meet the President of India, who is recovering from med procedure.”
