Mamata rejigs Trinamool’s core committee

The Trinamool Congress, which saw its party general secretary Mukul Roy being extricated from all plum posts, has got a new core committee, it was declared on Saturday.
After day-long deliberations in Kolkata, Roy was dropped from his position as party general secretary and member of the core committee. A member of the executive committee says that the decision of the party was “democratic”. “Mamata Banerjee is a seasoned leader who keeps state as well as national politics in mind when taking an important decision such as this”, MP Sisir Adhikari told Millennium Post. His son TMC MP Suvendu Adhikari was inducted into the core committee on Saturday.
