Mamata meets Modi at the airport

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport when he was returning to Delhi after attending the inaugural ceremony of the three-year-long Centenary Celebration of Gaudiya Math and Mission.

The two leaders spoke for a short while.

It was learnt that the Chief Minister said that there was an exaggeration over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and she assured the Prime Minister that the election would be held in peaceful condition. The state Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim was accompanying the Prime Minister since he landed to the city this evening. Hakim, Mayor Sovan Chatterjee and the state’s chief secretary Basudeb Banerjee were accompanying the Chief Minister when she welcomed the Prime Minister at the airport.

The Prime Minister also spoke to the Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi separately after speaking to the Chief Minister at the airport.

Some BJP leaders of the state were also present at the airport when Prime Minister was leaving for Delhi.
