Mamata fields candidate against Sonia

To challenge the top political leaders contesting from the Hindi heartland of Uttar Pradesh, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee announced the list of Lok Sabha candidates for 19 seats in UP on Wednesday. The candidates will enter into poll battle against heavyweights like Sonia Gandhi, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Narendra Modi.
In Uttar Pradesh, TMC has fielded Umesh Mishra for the Rae Bareli constituency. In Kanpur, it’s Anil Awasthi, while in Azamgarh, Madanmohan Mishra will be fighting on the TMC symbol, said party sources. In Lucknow, the TMC candidate is Mohammed Sarvar Malik, while in Pilbhit, Sitaram Rajput will fight on behalf. In Sitapur, it will be Jagadish Narayan Shukla.
