Mamata Banerjee to inaugurate Maati Utsav

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate 7-day long Maati Utsav in Burdwan on January 19. It was learnt that the Chief Minister will inaugurate various developmental projects and will also lay the foundation stones of various new projects as well. Farmers from Burdwan and adjoining districts will be felicitated at the programme. It has also been learnt that the Chief Minister will distribute prizes and extend help to various beneficiaries under Kanyashree, Yuvashree and Sabuj Santhi schemes. Ministers from various departments, the Chief Secretary and other departmental secretaries are expected to attend the programme. The district administration has already started taking various measures to strengthen security in the area. 

A helipad was being set up close to the venue of the programme. The district administration has decided to restrict entry of the vehicles on Burdwan-Kalna road from 12 pm to 5 pm for security reasons. The other ministers and the dignitaries will reach the spot by car. A senior administrative officer in the district said that they will not allow people to enter the venue after 12 pm for better management of the crowd.
