Mamata, Anna to share dais in Delhi

His political announcement in presence of Mamata, who is the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) chairperson, at the Constitution Club of India in the national capital is going to send ripples across the country in the midst of ‘Modi wave’.

Hazare will also campaign for the Trinamool Congress in the Lok Sabha elections after Mamata agrees to work on a 17-point nationalist programme suggested by him.

Earlier, he wrote a letter to Mamata asking her whether she is ready to work on 17 issues that India faced today. ‘No political party is thinking about changing the economic system. Only Mamata agreed to implement those 17 agendas if voted to power. I will campaign for her party if she commits to these issues in writing,’ he said while talking to the media persons at Ralegaon Siddhi in Maharashtra.

Hazare will be meeting Mamata on Tuesday to discuss the 17-point agenda. ‘We will meet tomorrow to discuss how to go about the 17-point programme in detail,’ he said while refusing to comment anything on former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.

On the context of Kejriwal’s stand on corruption, he said: ‘What can I say about him? It is his personal opinion. But one must provide concrete evidence before releasing a list of corrupt people. Otherwise it is useless.’

Mamata had announced that she will be in Delhi on Tuesday and her meeting with Hazare a day before his announcement is considered as a major political development for the Trinamool Congress, who wanted to make their presence on the national political platform.

Earlier, Hazare met Trinamool Congress general secretary Mukul Roy and discussed his 17-point agenda over various sectors including education, corruption, employment, economy etc. Roy conveyed his view to Mamata and she praised Hazare’s thought on building a healthy nation with good governance.

After a meeting with party leaders, she had decided to meet him in Delhi to discuss future planning ahead of the Lok Sabha poll.
