Mamata accuses CPI(M) of murdering democracy

She was addressing a political rally on Friday afternoon. The area was a CPI(M) stronghold and Misra had won in 2011 from this seat.

But in 2014 Lok Sabha polls, TMC took a lead of around 24,000 odd votes in this segment.

Banerjee said mentioned the names of the people who had killed innocent people in Netai, Keshpur and Nandigram. “A gang of four used to run the show and instructed comrades to kill people.

They were Dipak Sarkar, Susanta Ghosh, Suryakanta Misra and the fourth name I will not take. They had destroyed democracy and looted votes,” she said adding, “When TMC is contesting in election then they are demanding Central Force, election observers and what not. How many common people could vote during their regime,” she asked. Banerjee said CPI(M) should answer who had killed innocent people like Paresh Pradhan, Nemai Singh, Chitta Pal, Shambhu Hansda, Gangadhar Das, Raisan Bibi and Amalendu Dey.

“They have murdered democracy in West Bengal and now they are talking about democracy,” she said.

Without naming Mohammad Selim, she said people in the state had seen state sponsored terrorism and now they are talking about taking revenge.

“The people of West Bengal will not give CPI(M) any chance to come back as the people do not support canard, conspiracy and violence.”

Banerjee said the sobriety of TMC had been misinterpreted as “weakness”. “Those who think this live in fool’s paradise as we tolerate up to a certain limit and never beyond that,” she remarked.

Trinamool Congress chief said Suryakanta Misra’s arrogance and ego was well known and despite being a health minister for five years he did not do anything to improve the health care system in the state.

Criticising Manas Bhuniya she said “He must have forgotten that CPI(M) cadres did not allow him to enter Mangalkote in Burdwan and had physically abused him.

“But now he is the most trusted friend of Misra who believes that his party has done well in Jangalmahal. When the counting starts they will see that we have bagged all the 18 seats.”

Banerjee said TMC had always kept its faith on ballot and not on bullet. She said she would come and address a meeting here if Misra was defeated.

“He has spread canard against us. Do not vote for him. CPI(M) cannot see that peace has been established in these area and so are trying to jeopardise it.

“Their efforts should be thwarted. Vote for the TMC to carry out development work in Bengal,” she
maintained.
