Makers of Top Ramen noodles to co-sponsor India's Oly squad

The Indian Olympic Association has signed up Indo Nissin Foods Ltd (INFL) as a co-sponsor for the country's contingent for the upcoming London Olympics.

INFL has signed an agreement with the IOA for their product 'Top Ramen' noodles.

IOA acting president Vijay Kumar Malhotra has expressed confidence that more corporate houses and entrepreneurs will come forward to be part of the Olympic Movement in the country by sponsoring teams and players.

Malhotra said this is for the first time the IOA will be spending all the sponsorship money on sports persons qualified for the London Olympics.

"This is part of our commitment we had made to the sports persons qualified for the Olympics that they will get their due share," he said in a statement.

Malhotra also added that there is total transparency in the functioning of the IOA and all the sponsorship agreements are notified and explained.

He expressed confidence that qualified sports persons will live up to the expectations of the country in the quadrennial mega-event.

"I hope they will bring laurels to the nation. We in IOA have kept our promise and we hope they (sports persons) will keep theirs, i.e. to give their best at the Games," Malhotra said.

The co-sponsorship agreement was signed by IOA secretary general Randhir Singh and INFL managing director Yuji Tabeta.

INFL is the latest on IOA's sponsors list after Samsung and Amul, who are the principal sponsors of Indian contingent for the London Games.
