Main accused Shubham arrested
After giving the cops a chase for two days, the main accused Shubham who allegedly fired at a girl in a Mercedes car in Najafgarh right outside her house was arrested by Delhi Police on Friday.
The cops had formed several teams and were looking for Shubham who absconded after killing the girl allegedly after an altercation with the deceased. It is reported that another friend of the girl Nitin, with whom the girl had apparently gone out, reached her house before Shubham and Yogesh could drop her.
An altercation followed and a gunshot was heard. The girl was shot in front of her mother who was also standing outside the house where the incident happened. The boy ran after the incident. The 17-year-old girl died with the bullet injury.
According to police, the deceased, Simran, was a resident of Deepak Vihar in Najafgarh area. She was studying in a local school and was also preparing for law entrance exams. The girl had gone out for lunch with her friend, Shubham and Yogesh in Rajouri Garden.
The girl knew Shubham, however, this was the first time that she was meeting Yogesh. When her daughter did not return, her mother started getting anxious and started making phone calls at around 7 pm to get in touch with her.
Sources say that it might be a case of a love affair gone wrong. However, the cops are now interrogating Shubham to know why exactly he fired at the girl.
The cops have seized Shubham’s mobile which has several photographs and video clips showing himself and the girl. The cops suspect that the videos were shot on the same day but would verify it only after Shubham is questioned at length.
The photos also show a pistol. The girl is looking quite happy and police suspect it might be of the same day but the exact date of the shoot would be revealed only after Shubham is interrogated at length.
