Main accused behind East Delhi’s financier’s murder arrested

Delhi Police arrested the main accused behind the murder of a 35- year-old financier at East Delhi’s Geeta Colony area. According to the police, the accused has been identified as Akash Chauhan.

Police said that Chauhan had hatched a plan to kill his business partner Vinod Sharma over some financial issues. To execute his plan, Chauhan had hired allegedly five contract killers to carry out the plan.

On October 23, Vinod Sharma, who worked as a financier was allegedly shot at by a group of 4-5 hired killers who had pumped 8 bullets into his body while he was sitting alone in his office, said a senior police official.

Police said that Sharma later succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital. A case of murder was registered at the Geeta Colony and an investigation was undertaken.

During investigation, cops found that Sharma had some disputes with some people. Sharma used to lend money to people. Moreover, since the incident, his associate Akash Chauhan was found to be missing.

“Based on a tip-off, a police team caught Chauhan while he was trying to go out of Delhi. He was caught near the Anand Vihar ISBT,” said the senior officer.

During sustained interrogation, Chauhan confessed to his involvement in Sharma’s murder. He had paid Rs 7 lakh to the killers whom he had hired for killing Sharma. He also claimed that he was suffering heavy losses due to Sharma and wanted to get rid of him.
