Madan blames section of police for election loss

Former Trinamool Congress minister Madan Mitra on Thursday held some police officers of the Barrackpore Commissionerate responsible for losing the election from Kamarhati Assembly constituency.

While talking to the media persons at SSKM Hospital, Mitra fainted but the hospital staff members caught him. He regained consciousness a few minutes later. He was treated by the doctors in the hospital.

While talking to the media, Mitra termed the three police officers as ‘villains’ and said that one Assistant Commissioner and a deputy Commissioner of Barrackpore Commissionarate and the Inspector in Charge of Belghoria police station acted as CPI(M) cadres and this resulted to his loss in the election.

“It was not the victory of the CPI(M). It was the victory of a section of police officers and Delhi. This is just the beginning. A long way lies ahead. Left party and the Oppositions now have to run with oxygen cylinder as they have to toil hard,” Mitra said.
