Love turned sour led to Noida rape?

In Noida gang rape and murder case, the police is investigating in the direction of a ‘relationship turned sour’. According to the officers involved in the investigation, the girl had an affair with one of the arrested accused Naresh Lodha and was pressurising him to marry her, who in turn raped and murdered her with the help of two other accused.

On Monday, the police presented Naresh Lodha and Kailash Yadav in the court from where they were sent to judicial custody. The police did not apply for police remand for their further investigation. ‘We don’t need them on police remand and they have revealed what they had to tell,’ said Praveen Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Noida. The third accused Udayvir Yadav is still absconding.

Lodha worked in the same company in which the girl was employed. According to police, Lodha had an affair with her and the victim was pressurising him to marry her. Lodha rejected her proposal, as he was already married, a fact he had reportedly concealed from the victim.

‘Naresh orchestrated the murder of the girl with the help of two other accused. We will soon arrest the third accused also,’ said Praveen Kumar. The police had reportedly recovered clothes of the girl and collected some other evidence from the scene of crime. A senior officer involved in the investigation said that earlier, the girl had relationships with Udayvir Yadav and KailashYadav. According to police, the trio then hatched the conspiracy to eliminate the girl and raped her before murder.

Contrary to the police claim, the parents of the girl had named Udayvir Yadav and Kailash Yadav in the police complaint filed in sector 58 police station. Naresh Lodha, who belongs to the community of the girl, and is termed as main accused by the police was even suspect in the police complaint. The police is yet to establish the link between the three accused as Kailash and Udayvir had enimity with the girl while Naresh was alleged lover.
