Locals stop trucks carrying cattle, thrash drivers
Around 12 persons were injured when locals of east Delhi's Chilla village stopped five trucks carrying cattle and allegedly thrashed the drivers and helpers of the vehicles, police said here on Sunday.
According to the police, the incident was reported around 11.30 PM yesterday. Locals of Chilla village, located near east Delhi's Mayur Vihar extension, waylaid four large trucks and a mini truck and asked the drivers and helpers of the vehicles to deboard one after another.
Then they conducted a quick check and on finding cattle inside the vehicles, they allegedly started thrashing the drivers and helpers. One of the drivers managed to dodge the mob and called up the police control room.
