Literary Singapore

Oxford Bookstore Connaught Place in association with National Book Development Council of Singapore celebrated Singapore’s diverse culture and distinct literature with leading writers and their fascinating books on February 13. The evening included storytelling by Rosemarie Somaiah featuring stories from some of the popular writers from Singapore and a poetry recital by Chow Teck Seng and followed by a panel discussion with Josephine Chia, novelist and memoirist; Haresh Sharma, playwright and novelist Isa Kamari. The discussion was moderated by poet and graphic novelist Gwee Li Sui.

Singapore is the Guest of Honour country at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2015. Being a multicultural society, Singapore has lined up various literary programmes at ‘Events Corner’ themed on Diverse Cultures, Distinct Literature.

At Singapore pavilion in the NDWBF 2015, a discussion on the topic Of Heritage and Memoirs was also organised where the book lovers were introduced to the heritage, culture and history of Singapore. The programme was conducted by the authors Josephine Chia and Rosemarie Somaiah.

They talked about their books, Frog Under a Coconut Shell and Gateway To Singapore Culture.
