Lightning claims 2 of family

Two members of a family were killed after being struck by lightning at Ratua village in Malda. Police said that the incident  occurred on early Friday morning when they went to a field for ploughing. Six persons of the Mondal family were working on the field when the lightning struck them. Four persons who were there were also injured in the incident. 

All the victims were taken to Malda Medical College and Hospital where the two victims were declared brought dead The deceased have been identified as Upen Mondal (63) and his nephew Dilip Mondal (26). Those who are injured have been identified as Ruplal, Amulya, Shanti Mondal and Minati Mondal.
