Lieben shopping!

It was a day of celebrating the German way in the capital on the occassion of German Spring Fest 2013. Organised by Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), the festival is in its second edition.

Delhiites got a glimpse of the gala spring festivities filled with fun and frolic. An interesting market area had been set up where people were seen splurging, on clothes, jewellery, cosmetics, footwear, home products and garden accessories, et al.

Not only the adults, but kids too were kept busy as Itsy Bitsy and Wonderland School had organised an array of fun games and competitions for them. An enthralling live band performance by the The Mavericks, set the mood for the evening and made everybody groove to their beats.

The chamber is renowned for the some of the biggest festivities, which includes the Oktoberfest and the German Christmas Market. 'The ultimate aim of these fests is to make Delhities aware of the German culture and also make the huge expat community in Delhi feel at home. We hope to be able to achieve both our aims with more and more events every year', said Guido Christ, Deputy Director General, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce.

And there was no need for foodies to be be diappointed, as the festivities included an extensive menu from well known food brands to tickle the taste-buds which the visitors savoured with exotic German beers and wines.

Though a  a one-day affair, gauging its success and popularity, IGCC might just want to extend it in the coming years. We for sure are keeping are fingers crossed!
