‘LG behaving like a BJP spokesperson’

Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday alleged that Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung is himself under the threat of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), this is why he is taking ‘illegal’ and ‘unconstitutional’ actions against ‘elected government’ in the city.

The party also posed five questions to LG regarding constitution and working of the Shunglu Committee and alleged that he is behaving like a BJP spokesperson.

“Jung may be afraid that in case he does not dance to the tune of his political masters in the BJP’s central government, the files related to his highly dubious role as the then Joint Secretary in the Union Petroleum Ministry when alleged irregularities were committed in the multi-million-rupee Mukta-Panna oilfields contract, awarded to the joint venture between Reliance Industries Ltd and the American company, Enron, may be reopened by the CBI,” said AAP in a press statement on Saturday.

The ruling party in the city government is furious on the statement of LG Secretariat that some misdemeanors in the 400 files under scrutiny are of the gravity and that they are in the process to be sent to CBI for further investigation.

“It may be a matter of survival for Jung to intimidate the officers working for Delhi government but his
actions are clearly unbecoming of the constitutional post held by him and his desperate attempts to please his newly-adopted political master will not deter the AAP to continue working for the people of Delhi,” added AAP in the statement.

The party alleged that Jung was appointed by Congress government but fell in line with the BJP to please the new regime. AAP also warned LG to expose him in the public.
