West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee has urged all non-Congress and non-BJP parties to come together to form a third front for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
On a day when BJP supremo L K Advani’s resignation created a political turmoil in the Capital, this appeal by Banerjee on her Facebook page assumes political significance.Â
‘Time has come for all regional parties to come together and form a Federal Front to oppose anti-people decisions, and work together to build a better and brighter India,’ wrote Banerjee on her pageÂ
on Monday.
Trinamool sources told Millennium Post that this decision has come after intra-party deliberations. Said TMC MP and ex central minister Sisir Adhikari: ‘The decision has been taken after discussions. The main plank for anti-Congress stand is corruption. Also, there is no question of an alliance with the BJP’.
‘Let us stand together. Let us talk together. Let us decide a plan of action for the next Lok Sabha election,’ said Banerjee. Recently, Banerjee won a Lok Sabha bypoll sans any alliance with the Congress or any other political party.Â
