Leopard caught in Dehradun

A leopard was caught in the FRI campus bringing relief to the people here, after the state forest department pressed a team of hunters’ from Moradabad, an official said. A 17-year-old girl was killed last week leading to protests by people. Few days back one leopardess was caught by the hunters.

“There is a relief after this second successful trap, but people are still panic-striken as number of leopards can be seen roaming around in the area. We are taking precautionary measures after sunset,” said one of the residents on the FRI campus. People have been terrorised by constant sights  of big cats. However incidents of sudden disappearance of stray/pet dogs are still creating panic among the people. The team had laid traps at different key locations by locating leopard’s pug marks.
