Lena suggests Bieber’s song promotes rape culture
Lena Dunham is seemingly not a fan of Justin Bieber’s comeback single, What Do You Mean, suggesting that it promotes rape culture and sends mixed messages about consent.
The Girls creator and star appeared to take a shot at the Canadian singer via a Twitter post on Monday.
Dunham didn’t explicitly mention Bieber in her tweet, but she did make a reference to some lyrics from the track, reports aceshowbiz.com.
“Let’s do away with pop songs where a girl nods yes when she means no and vice versa, k?” she wrote, referring to the lines, “What do you mean?/ When you nod your head yes/ But you wanna say no/ What do you mean?”
