Left, Congress, BJP have tacit understanding in Bengal: TMC

The ruling Trinamool Congress on Monday said BJP state president Dilip Ghosh's comments that his party is ready to work with other opposition parties in West Bengal Assembly only proves TMC's claim of Congress, Left Front and BJP having a “tacit understanding” in the state.

“We have been saying for the last few years that CPI(M), Congress and BJP are having a tacit understanding in Bengal. Today the cat has come out of the bag. Dilip Ghosh's comment regarding an alliance has only proved we are right. The entire opposition is fighting against us,” TMC Vice President Mukul Roy said.

Earlier in the day, soon after taking oath as a member of the Assembly, Ghosh had said, “As opposition, people have given us the mandate to ensure that the government is on track. To do this if we have to work with all opposition parties, we will do it.”

While criticising the decision of the Congress and the CPI(M) to boycott the swearing-in ceremony, Roy it was nothing but disrespect of people’s mandate.

“If you are boycotting the swearing-in ceremony after such a massive mandate, then it is nothing but disrespect of people’s mandate,” Roy said.

Roy also refuted allegations of Trinamool involvement in post-poll violence as “baseless”.
