Left-affiliated youth wings create ruckus in city

Around 12 Left-affiliated organisations took part in Thursday’s rally. The members of these organisations wanted to submit a deputation to the Governor.

However, the police stopped the rally on Rani Rashmani Avenue. The protestors broke one barricade and a scuffle broke out between them and the police. When the members of the protesting  organisations tried to break the second barricade, the police stopped them.

A chaos broke out at Rani Rashmani road and a huge contingent of police force swung into action and brought the situation under control. The agitators failed to move further and sat on the Rani Rashmani road raising slogans.

They were squatting and simultaneously shouting slogans. They alleged that the state government had failed to create employment in the state and also demanded to fill up the vacant positions in the schools.

Incidentally, it be mentioned that the state government has already started the process of recruitment in schools following the Calcutta High Court’s order.
