Lawyers try to assault serial rapist outside court

Soon after a city court sent him on a 14-days judicial custody, alleged necrophiliac, Ravinder Kumar, who has reportedly so far confessed to <g data-gr-id="46">have</g> killed and sexually assaulted as many as 28 children in the past eight years, Kumar was attacked by some lawyers inside the Rohini Court premises on Thursday.

The incident took place after Kumar came out of the court room. Around a <g data-gr-id="52">dozen</g> persons rushed towards him and allegedly tried to physically assault him. One lawyer managed to reach very close to Kumar and tried to lay a punch. He apparently missed Kumar’s face by an inch.

“Kumar was protected by police officials who did their best to put him into the police van safely,” said 

Vikramjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer), who denied that Kumar was actually hit.
The Delhi Police <g data-gr-id="38">have</g> also charged Kumar under Section 377 of IPC after he reportedly confessed to <g data-gr-id="39">have</g> sodomised young boys and also to have sexually assaulted corpses.

Of the 28 cases, the police have so far tracked down 13 that have been reported. As many as 10 of them were reported in Delhi — nine cases in different police stations of outer district 
and one at West Delhi’s Mundka. 

One case was found to be reported near Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh and in two cases reported in Haryana (one near Faridabad and the other near Bahadurgarh), inquests were ordered but no FIRs were registered, said a senior police official. 

Delhi Police have intimated police departments in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana about the rest of the cases, which were either not tracked till Thursday or were tracked but no FIR was found to have been registered, said the official.

According to a source, the Rohini Court Bar Association has unofficially announced that none of its <g data-gr-id="49">member</g> would take Ravinder Kumar’s case.
