Law Commission soon in Odisha: CM

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday said the government is determined to constitute Law Commission and take other welfare measures for advocates, including setting up a lawyers’ academy for the benefit of young lawyers.
Patnaik, who was the Chief Guest at the 44th annual conference of All Odisha Lawyers’ Association here, said, “The state government is shortly going to constitute Law Commission in the state. It will examine all the existing laws and suggest modifications, if necessary.”
Urging lawyers to take up social responsibility and work for the benefit of the poor and disadvantaged, he said in a democratic society lawyers have a more important role to play as they are the guardians of the rule of law.
