Law and order improved in Rajasthan in 2014, says Report

The Law and Order situation in Rajasthan was far better in 2014 as compared to the previous years with only eight cases of minor communal tensions being registered in the state, an official report has said.

Law and Order (L&O) wing of Rajasthan Police managed eight incidents of communal tensions in parts of the state as compared to 11 in 2013, a Police Headquarters report on L&O said.

In total, L&O management exigency also declined in the state in 2014 as it was required on 149 fronts including communal tensions, rallies, protests, bandh, religious fairs, Assembly session, election, VVIP visits and strikes against 200 in 2013.

Rajasthan did not witness any caste-based tensions in 2014 calender year whereas 2013 witnessed 11 such incidents, the report covering incidents from 2009 to 2014 said.
