Laurels for Colin Farrell

Irish actor Colin Farrell is set to be honoured at the eighth edition of the event ‘Oscar Wilde: Honouring the Irish in Film’.

The event, organised by the non-profit US-Ireland Alliance, recognises the contributions of the Irish in film and television industry.

The 36-year-old will receive the honour in Santa Monica 21 February, reports

Farrell, who won a Golden Globe award for his role in In Bruges in 2009, is among a list of special honourees, who will be celebrated at the prestigious event.

Previously, artists like Michelle Williams, Melissa McCarthy, Sarah Bolger, Saoirse Ronan and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, have been recognised.

The actor is currently holidaying in his native Dublin, where he attended the Irish premier of Les Miserables Monday
