Landlines get new lease of life after BSNL concessions

 In its bid to promote usage of landline phones among customers, state-owned telecom major BSNL has taken a slew of steps, which includes providing unlimited free callings from landlines during night hours to all service providers networks across the country, officials said on Thursday. From June 15, BSNL mobile phones will also have free national roaming facilities for a period of one year. “The BSNL has introduced unlimited free calling during night hours from its landline phones to all landline phones and mobile phones of all service providers network on <g data-gr-id="23">all-India</g> basis from May 1. The unlimited free night calling are available from 9.00 pm to 7.00 am,” an official of UP (West) Telecom circle said. Under this scheme major Landline General Plans, landline special plans as well as <g data-gr-id="21">major</g> combo - landline plus broadband are covered. The company has also announced popular STVs for mobile customers. For Rs 125 the customers will get 177 minutes free on any net, 200 MB data and 100 SMS for 30 <g data-gr-id="18">days,</g> while for Rs 68 the customers will get 1GB data for 7 days.
