Laketown murder: Arrest warrant issued

Police suspect that the valuables were looted by the accused from the house of the victim who Raju had killed by throttling. Madhu Jain (57) was found dead inside her flat situated on the third floor of an apartment at Lake Town on last Friday.  

After starting an investigation police found that Raju who had come to Kolkata all the way from Lucknow by train on Friday morning.  The victim had been acquainted with the accused,  police came to know in the investigation.  

The accused switched off his mobile phone as soon as he reached the city and used the cell phone of a taxi driver which he hired from Howrah station on the day of incident to ring up the victim.   A team of Bidhannagar police had reached Lucknow and recovered the ornaments which were stolen from the house of the victim.   

According to the investigation police suspect the motive behind the murder was to loot the valuables from the house of the victim.
