Laboratory and ECG services in ESI dispensaries launched

The laboratory and ECG services in ESI Dispensaries at Delhi and Noida areas were launched on Friday at the ESIC Dispensary, Okhla.

Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Labour and Employment, inaugurated the service which falls under the 2nd Generation Health Reform Agenda ESIC-2.0. It was also announced that in the first phase services such as biochemistry tests with semi-auto analyser, haematology analyser with other haemotological tests, clinical pathology, serology and Electro Cardiogram (ECG services) will start by November 11. On the occasion Dattatreya also announced the recent initiatives taken by the Ministry of Labour and Employment like the online availability of electronic health record of ESI Beneficiaries, Abhiyan Indradhanush which ensures the changing of bed-sheets daily according to the VIBGYOR pattern and providing yoga facilities in all ESIC Hospitals by November 30. In addition to this, AYUSH facilities will be extended up to the dispensary level in phases and the introduction of appropriate cancer detection/treatment, cardiology treatment, dialysis facilities by December 31.

Deepak Kumar, IAS, Director General, ESIC also informed about the ‘May I Help You’ counters for the patients/attendants and proper ‘Queue Management System’ which will be starting in each ESIC Hospital by November 30.
