KVIC records 34% increase in sale in 1st half of current fiscal

In another shot in the arms of Khadi &Village Industries Commission (KVIC), five major departmental stores of KVIC have a registered a whopping 34 per cent increase in sale during the first half of the current financial year.

Announcing the six month outcome and results of special discounted sale in October, KVIC Chairman VK Saxena said that five flagship stores of KVIC recorded a sale of Rs 27.47 crore during April to September 2016 as against Rs 20.54 crore for the same period of last year.

In addition, KVIC’s largest outlet, Khadi Gramodyog  Bhavan New Delhi has recorded a sale of Rs 10.79 crore in October this year as against Rs 9.81 crore in the same month last year, thus marking an increase of Rs 91 lakh. 

Saxena further said that this record sale is exclusive of Rs 1.36 crore revenue generated through sale of gift vouchers and sale of specially designed gift kits/hampers for Diwali, which was introduced just three months back. 

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) had purchased khadi gift vouchers worth Rs 81.28 lakh for its employees and ONGC purchased khadi gift kits and hampers worth Rs 53 lakh in October 2016 from KGB New Delhi.
