Zero's world premiere at Kolkata Film Festival

Kolkata: Zero, Shah Rukh Khan's new film, will have a world premiere show at the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) scheduled to be held from November 10 to 17.

SRK and Amitabh Bachchan will be staying at a 5-star city hotel. The inaugural function will be held at Netaji Indoor Stadium and its duration will be of an hour. SRK has urged Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to extend it as he wants to show the trailer of Zero and say a few words on the cinema.

The film will be released in December but SRK wants the Kolkata International Film Festival platform for the world premiere. SRK is a regular at the event and is the brand ambassador of the state government.

Apart from King Khan and Big B, Jaya Bachchan, Mahesh Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Waheeda Rehman, Biswajit and Nandita Das are likely to be present at the inaugural session of the KIFF. Soumitra Chatterjee, Sabitri Chatterjee, Madhabi Chakraborty, Gautam Ghosh, Ranjit Mullick along with many others from Bollywood will be present at the show.

One hundred and seventy-one full-length feature films and 150 short films will be screened in 16 halls. Famous Bengali feature film Antony Firingee featuring Uttam Kumar and Tanuja will be screened at the inaugural session. Last year films were screened in 14 halls.

The focus country in KIFF is Australia. Australian cinema will celebrate its centenary in 2018.
