Youth held for rape attempt

Kolkata: A youth was arrested by the officers of Magrahat police station for allegedly trying to rape a minor girl.

The accused also attacked the girl with a sharp object. The victim has been admitted at the Diamond Harbour Hospital. On Saturday night when the girl was alone in her house, the accused tried to rape her.

Hearing her scream, some local residents ran to the house and caught the accused and later handed over to police.
